This bathroom remodel was one for the books! We planned the design with classic black and white colors, penny tile, and an amazing black metal shower door! The finished product left a fresh and clean retreat for this family to enjoy for many years to come!
What did this bathroom look like before?
Same angle after:
The before was dark and closed in. The after is light, bright, and spacious! We redesigned the entire space! One of my favorite parts of a big project like this is to brainstorm the puzzle of how it will fit back together.
How do we do that, you ask? Design Software!
- We start with the initial consult to discuss the space, learn about the client’s needs, and access the structural possibility of what they would like to do.
- Next, we measure everything! We take photos, strategize, and measure some more!
- Once we get home, we enter all of that information into our design software and make a visual plan before the hammer is lifted! This way, if you are a visual learner, you can see how the space will look before demo even starts. This also helps us to provide a precise estimate for the work that will be completed.
- After the logistics are hammered down, we start talking specifics of design. While we are not professional designers, we can certainly use our knowledge and experience to help you make choices that will fit your needs! In order to keep the project consistent, we can provide digital design boards to pull all of the choices together into one spot to make sure everything fits together nicely!
What makes this remodel special?
Did you know that you can have heated floors? Underneath this ADORABLE black and white penny tile is a layer of headed flooring to keep your toes nice and cozy! I love that the home owners wanted to add this into their plan!
This penny tile was on the top of the list of our client’s requests. Through some research, and physically seeing this patten in two places, we decided on the edges to have this black border. I love the way it turned out! Now, did Scott love laying it? Jury is still out on that one! 🙂
This shower door was also something special that was requested from the beginning. It is heavy, smooth, and beautiful. The black lines really showcase that side of the room and add a perfect detail that really catches you eye!
It’s all in the details!
Playing off of the old school feel, there were a couple more design elements that we slid in. These goose neck faucets were the perfect addition. Not only did they fit the color scheme, but they fit the overall style that the client was looking for. We were so happy with them! (Links down below)
These mirrors were also the perfect touch! Even in these details, there was a reason behind the selection. The homeowner wanted the mirrors to be hung low so that she could make sure her grand babies could see over the sink to brush their teeth when they stayed the night! You would never know such discussions happened if they were not laid out in a blog description! (love!)
Last, but certainly not least, can we mention these school house lights? We found a shop off of Etsy that gave us adorable lights to hand above the mirrors to aid in the classic vibe, and also give visual interest. They feel like a piece of art up on the wall!
I added in a couple wood toned items to soften the black and white colors as fun little functional accents!
